Mackay Dentist Supports Local Charity

On Saturday the 26th of September 2015, our dental clinic participated in a charity day to raise funds for Run for Mi Life.

All takings from the day were donated to Run for Mi Life, it was well supported by the community and we managed to raise well over $1000.

Run for Mi Life is a local Mackay charity, with the inaugural run held in 2014. The run was started in honour of Mackay local Matthew Ivory (hence the Mi in Run for Mi Life). Its aim is to raise awareness of depression and suicide in our community and distributes funds raised to local charities involved in this area.

This year proceeds are being donated to Beyond Blue and The Grapevine Group, which promotes safe talk and work closely with the Mackay community. Local suicide prevention resources can be found at www.grapevinegroup.org.au

The reason this charity was chosen specifically is 1) depression and suicide is a major issue in our community and 2) the money raised locally stays local and supports locals.
